- The NAACP held its Freedom Fund Dinner on November 7, and honored students who have a 3.2 or higher Grade Point Average.

- Logan held its United Way Student-Penny-Drive kick-off assembly! During the assembly Lower El. staff and students will be challenging Upper El. staff and students as to which grade level will be able to raise the most money. All proceeds will go to Food Gatherers, to help alleviate hunger in Washtenaw County. The Logan community would like to thank 2nd grade teacher Kristi Krile and 5th grade teacher Hyeuo Park for organizing such a worthwhile school-wide event!
- Logan staff wishes to thank Angela Stroud for donating backpacks to students. The colorful backpacks were stuffed full with paper, pencils, crayons, folders, etc. Thank you Ms. Stroud for your generous donations!
- Pioneer’s women’s field hockey team won the state championship for the fifth year in a row, beating Huron 2-0.
- The U.S. National Under-17 Hockey Team rolled past Switzerland, 8-2, on November 7, in Trnava, Slovakia. Team USA captured first place at the 2009 Under-17 Four Nations Cup with a perfect 3-0-0-0 record.
- The U.S. National Under-18 Hockey Team dropped Switzerland, 3-2, on November 8, in the finale of the 2009 Under-18 Four Nations Cup in Pori, Finland. Team USA finished with a perfect 3-0-0-0 record to capture the tournament title.
